
The film is about the mystical history of the Indian elephant Raja, which was sent to Vienna around 1550 on an adventurous journey by the forests of Kerala and Lisbon. The investigations of the Gandhi-activist P.V. Rajagopal along the route unearths surprises and brings us to exciting compounds. We experience the capture of the little elephant, the training, its work in the forest and public appearance in temples – until Raja is chosen as status symbol of European disposers.
