The winter term at "Schloss Thannberg" school of hotel management comes to an end, Director Bonelli sends his pupils off on their holidays and goes away himself. Lilo, the niece of the absent-minded caretaker Haselmeier, and Pinky, the model pupil, meanwhile have the run of the empty building. Their friends are on the way, the atmosphere is elated, now all that has to be done is pay Bonelli's 15.000,- DM into the account, turn up the heating and conquer Kitzbühel. But when a puff of wind sends the envelope with the money into the coal burner, holiday dreams go up in flames. How are the young people to make good the damage within a fortnight? All are agreed: only a miracle can help now. Then there is a knock at the door and in comes H. C. Morton, multimillionaire, in search of a hotel together with his retinue. The would-be hoteliers are pleased to help out for the special price of DM 1.000,- per day. But satisfying this difficult guest is easier said than done.
