Toni, an engineer, finds an unconscious woman in the snow in the lonely mountains and takes her back to his hut. When the woman wakes up next morning, she decides to stay; then she sees the traces of a wild alsation dog that has been prowling around the hut in the night. Toni follows the footprints to another hut where he finds a dead body. The rescued woman later tells him that she was on a mountain tour with a woman friend. Jealous, she wanted to poison her. Not to be dissuaded from drinking the poison, her friend died. Sorry for her, Toni gets rid of all signs of the crime, but the two cannot escape justice.
