On edge and long in need of a holiday, townsman Christian Meier does not land up, as planned, in faraway Africa with his family, but on a Tirolean farm where his tenant, architect Stefan Hellwig, has been commissioned to design an industrial centre. After falling in love with Karin Rothe, a doctor, he learns just how clients get hold of land belonging to mountain farmers. There and then he tries to move the project down to the valley.
