500 km from Munich to Venice – a journey through 3 countries and 3 cultures, landscape on a large scale, landscape of which the modern car and air tourist perceives little.
The film shows the remotest areas along an assumed line between Munich and Venice. Situations taking place away from the beaten track are shown in exciting sequences – people prospecting for rock crystal and endangering their life at an altitude of above 3,000 m, rare plants and animals like Alpine salamanders or frostwork on the Fnes plateau and spectacular natural landscapes such as the Vomper Joch.
