Michael Ballhaus chose Tirol as location
Cine Tirol supports Michael Ballhaus and the shooting of his spots for climate protection.
End of march a shooting for Michael Ballhaus climate protection project took place in the alpine scenery of Tirol. The 3-time Academy Award nominee - the flying eye of Hollywood - is currently working together with members of Film Academy Berlin (dffb) on 6 spots for his project, going to be shot across Europe. He characterised the shooting day in Tirol as "one of those lucky accidents which can happen to you a few times in life". The interaction between location scouts, students, Tirolean crew and actors, wheather and last but not least the support of Cine Tirol was just perfect. "I'll be back!" he said before he left the country of Tirol.
In the United States, Ballhaus worked not only with Scorsese but with directors such as John Sales, James Foley, Paul Newman, Peter Yates, Jim Brooks, Frank Oz, Steve Kloves, Francis Ford Coppola, Wolfgang Petersen, Robert Redford, and Mike Nichols, the last of whom said that "working with Michael is like being in heaven, only you don’t have to die for it.”

Even Katharina Wyss, Director of the spot an DoP Tobias von dem Borne were deeply satisfied by the circumstances they met while shhoting in Tirol.
