In the last 10 years nearly 70 Indian filmproductions have been shooting in Tirol.

Cine Tirol was quite surprised when in the beginning of its marketing activities the interest of the Indian film industry for shooting in the area was overwhelming: the beauty of the alpine landscape, the cultural sights and the friendliness of the local people attracted already more than 64 Indian film productions so far – for example Nitin Manmohan’s “Chal mere bhai”, Ajay Devgan’s “Raju Chacha”, Krishna Vamsi’s “Khadgam” and “Vasantham” featuring Venkatesh Babu were shot partly in Tirol. “Until now Cine Tirol has been co-operating with many Indian film productions and we hope that this success will go on!“ says Sabine Aigner. “Without any doubt we can compete with Switzerland very well – Tirol reflects the true magic of the mountains and on the price side we can make the even more attractive offers to the film productions. We may not be a major film centre yet but we are near to Munich which is only two hours' drive away if one needs to bring in equipment".

In October 2006 Cine Tirol also participated at the Cinemascapes fair in Mumbai and thus promoted Tirol - the location in the Heart of the Alps - as the number 1 filmlocation in the mountains. For 2008 several producers already showed their interest in coming to Tirol for various filmprojects. Tirol will be ready to welcome these filmteams from India! Namaste!
